The Battling On Team

The Battling On team comprises of trained veterans and volunteers. Battling On prides itself on providing a comprehensive training programme that supports both veterans and volunteers to provide high quality advice, support and training to the beneficiaries. Battling On was the 2017 Runner up in the Excellence in Business Awards for Training Programme of the Year.

All of the veterans employed by Battling On have undergone comprehensive training and are now supporting some of the West Country’s most vulnerable young people.

Volunteers offer their time freely and provide a range of counselling and therapies to help veterans struggling with mental health disorders. They also provide advice and guidance on the recruitment process, supporting veterans with CV writing, job applications and successful interview techniques.

Nikki Markham

Nikki is the founding director of Battling On, and a passionate advocate for disadvantaged young people and adults. She has over 20 years’ experience of teaching in this specific demographic and achieving some outstanding results. Having recognised the need of veterans for help in transitioning into the civilian world she started Battling On. Using her own knowledge of mental health issues and education, and with the aid of veteran volunteers, this organisation has grown into a proven success.

There is a dedicated team of veterans and volunteer professionals who work together with Nikki to make Battling On the success that it is.
